Conclusion

Giant cervical foetus-in-foetu is extremely rare and can lead to obstructed labour if vaginal delivery is attempted.

Supporting Evidence

  • Less than 200 cases of foetus-in-foetu have been reported, with only three cases of cervical foetus-in-foetu documented.
  • The included foetus had recognizable features such as eyes, a cranium, and long bones.
  • Attempts at vaginal delivery led to obstructed labour and intrauterine foetal demise.

Takeaway

Sometimes, a baby can have another tiny baby inside them, which is very rare. If the mom tries to give birth naturally, it can cause problems.

Methodology

Prenatal ultrasonography was used to diagnose the condition at 35 weeks of gestation.

Limitations

Pathologic examination was hindered by cultural taboo, leading to declined consent for further analysis.

Participant Demographics

28-year-old Nigerian woman, gravida 2, para 1.
