Conclusion

The patient with an amoebic ulcer of the glans penis responded well to treatment with metronidazole.

Takeaway

Amoebic ulcers on the penis are very rare, but they can happen, especially in men who have sex with men. This case shows that they can be treated successfully with the right medicine.

Methodology

Diagnosis was confirmed by wet mount microscopic examination of the discharge, and treatment involved a two-week course of metronidazole.
