Hypothesis
The addition of azopyridine dye to polymer gel electrolytes will enhance the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells.
Conclusion
Incorporating 10% azopyridine dye into the polymer gel electrolyte improved the power conversion efficiency of the solar cells by about 10%.
Supporting Evidence
- The optimal polymer-to-liquid electrolyte ratio was found to be 1:3.
- The addition of azopyridine dye increased the ionic conductivity of the gel electrolyte.
- The power conversion efficiency of the solar cells improved significantly with the addition of the dye.
Takeaway
This study shows that adding a special dye to a gel used in solar cells can make them work better and produce more energy.
Methodology
The study involved synthesizing polymer gel electrolytes with varying ratios of polymer to liquid electrolyte and testing their performance in dye-sensitized solar cells.
Limitations
The study primarily focused on the performance of the solar cells without addressing long-term stability and commercial viability.
