Collaboration Factors in Addressing Elder Intimate Partner Violence in Japan

Hypothesis

The presence of a domestic violence manual influences collaboration between Community Comprehensive Support Centers and Domestic Violence support agencies.

Conclusion

The study found that having a domestic violence manual significantly increases the likelihood of collaboration between support agencies.

Supporting Evidence

  • 5.8% of respondents frequently consulted with DV support organizations.
  • 25.9% occasionally consulted with DV support organizations.
  • 44.0% never consulted with DV support organizations.
  • CCSCs with a domestic violence manual were significantly more likely to consult DV support organizations.

Takeaway

This study shows that having a guide on how to deal with domestic violence helps community centers work better with support agencies to help older people.

Methodology

Data from a national survey of Community Social Workers was analyzed using logistic regression.
