Hypothesis
Can the coupling of CaAl2O4:(Eu, Nd) with TiO2-xNy enhance photocatalytic activity even after light is turned off?
Conclusion
The CaAl2O4:(Eu, Nd)/TiO2-xNy composite photocatalyst can maintain its activity for over 3 hours after the light source is turned off.
Supporting Evidence
- The composite showed excellent photocatalytic deNOx activity under UV light.
- Photocatalytic activity was maintained for over 3 hours after the light was turned off.
- The study provides a new approach to air purification using visible light.
Takeaway
This study shows that a new material can keep cleaning the air even when the light is off, which is really cool!
Methodology
The composite was synthesized using planetary ball milling and its photocatalytic activity was tested by measuring NO gas concentration during light irradiation and after turning off the light.
Limitations
The study primarily focuses on the photocatalytic activity under specific conditions and may not account for all environmental variables.
