Hypothesis

This study aimed to investigate the cytotoxicity and antibacterial properties of four different endodontic sealers.

Conclusion

GuttaFlow and EndoSequence BC are biocompatible sealing materials, while Pulp Canal Sealer EWT and AH Plus Jet showed significant cytotoxicity.

Supporting Evidence

  • GuttaFlow and EndoSequence BC showed relatively non-cytotoxic reactions.
  • Pulp Canal Sealer EWT and AH Plus Jet caused a significant decrease in cell proliferation.
  • No antibacterial effect of EndoSequence BC against P. micra was found.
  • GuttaFlow showed a weak antibacterial effect against P. micra.

Takeaway

The study tested four types of dental sealers to see how they affect cells and bacteria. Some sealers are safer for cells than others.

Methodology

The study used human periodontal ligament fibroblasts to assess cell proliferation and visual analysis of growth inhibition after exposure to different sealers.
