Hypothesis

This study aimed to evaluate the differences in AMHR2 expression levels in endometrial tissue between AEH patients with a PCOS background and those without.

Conclusion

The presence of PCOS may influence the AMH-AMHR cascade signaling pathway in the endometrium, affecting its biological effects.

Supporting Evidence

  • The AMHR2 protein was expressed in the endometrium of both PCOS and non-PCOS women.
  • AMHR2 expression in AEH endometrium of PCOS patients was significantly higher than in non-PCOS patients.
  • There was no significant difference in AMHR2 expression in normal endometrium between PCOS and non-PCOS patients.

Takeaway

Women with PCOS have higher levels of a hormone that usually helps control cell growth in the uterus, but this doesn't always stop abnormal growths from happening.

Methodology

The study used a retrospective diagnostic design with immunohistochemistry to assess AMHR2 expression in endometrial tissues from women of reproductive age.

Potential Biases

Selection bias may arise from the restricted source of research subjects and the matching process.

Limitations

The study had a limited sample size and was conducted at a single center, which may introduce selection bias.

Participant Demographics

Women of reproductive age (20-39 years) with and without PCOS.
