Hypothesis
The study aims to achieve perfection in tablet manufacturing by improving the current manufacturing process of Ranitidine hydrochloride tablets.
Conclusion
The application of Six Sigma led to significant improvements in process capability, yield, and overall efficiency in the production of Ranitidine hydrochloride tablets.
Supporting Evidence
- The sigma level of the manufacturing process improved from 1.5 to 4.
- Rework was reduced by 50%.
- Overall efficiency improved by approximately 30%.
- Cost reduction of approximately Rs.90 to 95 lakhs per annum was achieved.
Takeaway
This study shows how using a special method called Six Sigma can help make better quality medicine by reducing mistakes in making tablets.
Methodology
The study used the DMAIC methodology of Six Sigma, which includes defining goals, measuring current processes, analyzing data, improving processes, and controlling outcomes.
