Hypothesis

There is no difference between bioceramic and epoxy-resin-based sealers concerning bond strength.

Conclusion

The resin-based sealer showed higher bond strength and better dentinal tubule penetration than the two calcium silicate sealers tested.

Supporting Evidence

  • Ah Plus showed significantly better results in bond strength compared to both calcium silicate sealers.
  • FKG Hi-Flow exhibited higher dislodgement resistance than Ah Bio.
  • All tested sealers showed a predominantly cohesive mode of failure.
  • A positive correlation between dentinal tubule penetration and bond strength was found for Ah Bio and Ah Plus.

Takeaway

This study looked at how well different sealers stick to teeth and how deep they go into tiny holes in the teeth. It found that one type of sealer works better than the others.

Methodology

The study used 36 extracted teeth, divided into three groups, and tested the bond strength of different sealers using a push-out test.

Limitations

The study was conducted in an experimental setup with extracted teeth, which may not fully represent clinical conditions.
