Methodology

Blood samples from 263 children were tested using three methods: Partec Rapid Malaria Test®, Binax Now® Malaria Rapid Diagnostic Test, and Giemsa stain microscopy.

Limitations

The PT cannot differentiate between Plasmodium species, and many malaria cases in Africa are treated at home without proper diagnosis.
