Conclusion

Aggressive resection surgery followed by effective adjuvant chemotherapy is necessary for surviving long time without relapse of poorly prognostic patients with metastases outside of the abdominal cavity from peritoneal papillary serous adenocarcinomas.

Supporting Evidence

  • The patient had multiple tumor resections and adjuvant chemotherapy.
  • She remained disease-free for almost 7 years after treatment.

Takeaway

A 71-year-old woman had surgery for cancer that spread to her lymph nodes, but after treatment, she has been healthy for almost 7 years.

Methodology

The patient underwent complete resection of tumors and received adjuvant chemotherapy with a modified FAM regimen.

Limitations

The study is based on a single case report, limiting generalizability.

Participant Demographics

71-year-old female patient.
